Episode 2
Betrayal
At six, my life turned into a nightmare as my uncle began disguising abuse as rough play. My pleas to my grandmother went unheard, trapping me in repeated cycles of assault. Another uncle continued the pattern, reinforcing my belief that adults wouldn’t protect me. Things worsened with my father, whose drunken behavior and twisted declarations of love left deep scars. My brother's manipulation and threats added another layer of betrayal, distorting my understanding of love and trust. I poured myself into education and work, determined to escape. Counseling forced me to face buried memories, but it was essential for healing. Despite the challenges of reconnecting with family after my mother's stroke, I found strength in sharing my story. My journey is one from darkness to resilience, seeking solace not just for myself but for others who walk a similar path.
