Episode 1

Be Brave, Always Brave

At just seven years old, a young girl’s world shattered when her father began sexually abusing her during weekend visits after her parents’ separation. Trapped in silence by threats and fear, she endured years of escalating abuse often in plain sight while adults around her stayed quiet. As she grew older, she masked her pain with running, bulimia, and forced smiles, until a breakthrough came through haunting art that finally gave her pain a voice. Her courageous decision to speak up led to a harrowing court case that ended in acquittal but not in defeat. Now an ultramarathon runner and fierce advocate, she reclaims her story, her strength, and her voice, determined to break the cycle of silence that protects predators and fails survivors.

B
I am B, a 43 year old single mum to two beautiful children. I have shared my story and voice for many years now. Not wanting to carry the fears, or limit my strength or abilities I use ultra-running to highlight the brave woman I am. I endure life with fewer limits, removing walls and grabbing all potentials in my life.  Currently studying to complete a degree in marketing and training to run my first 100km; I don’t do things in halves.
I chose Fiona O’Loughlin after meeting her at one of her standup comedy shows. She had a way about her that was raw, open and honest. I valued this about Fiona and felt her voice (even though it’s a lot funnier than mine) held an amount of trust that could share my story with the openness it needs and deserves.
