I Will Always Love My Dad

On the surface, she was the golden child—blonde, athletic, popular, and nationally ranked in tennis. But behind the smile was a girl trapped in a devastating secret: from age 10 to 14, she was sexually involved with her father. Confused and craving his approval, she mistook abuse for love, even initiating encounters and feeling “blessed” by his attention. When she finally left home at 14, her sexuality shut down, her body rebelled through addiction and weight gain, and her life spiraled into decades of alcohol, drugs, mania, and self-destruction.

Diagnosed with bipolar disorder and haunted by guilt—especially because she “enjoyed” parts of the abuse—she never built the family she longed for and struggles daily with trust, learning, and stability. Now in her 50s, she’s still fighting her demons, but shares her story with one urgent hope: to expose how incest distorts a life from the inside out—and why silence must end.
